Stand Strong
The weaker you are on your legs the more you are prone to fall; and the more you fall, the less confident you are to walk. The stronger you are on your legs, the less you are prone to fall; and the less you fall, the more confident you are to walk.
The same is also true of our walk with the Lord. The weaker we are in our stand for the Lord and His Word, the more we are prone to fall into sin (things we do and don't do); and the more we fall into sin, the less confident we are in our walk with the Lord. On the contrary, the stronger we are in the Lord and in His Word, the less we are are prone to fall; and the less we fall, the more confident we are in our walk with the Lord. The prophet Isaiah says in Isaiah 35:3,4 - "Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees. Say to those who are fearful-hearted. "Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God; He will come and save you."
We as believers in Jesus are called to stand strong in our faith (belief and trust) in the Lord and in His Word (believing and obeying it). We can't afford to waver or be double-minded in our faith, as we won't make much progress this way. Yet, so often we find either ourselves, or others around us, wavering in our faith, and if left unchecked, this can result in our faith being shipwrecked altogether. (Read 1 Timothy 1:19)
We live in very trying, turbulent and troublesome times where we're surrounded by so many conflicting voices that are in total contradiction to God and His Word. It's really important therefore, that we choose and determine to stand strong in our faith.
There've been many times in my life, where I've found myself wavering, not necessarily in my faith in Christ, but rather in the expresson of it. I've found myself professing one thing and practicing another, until I realised that I made little or no progress in my walk with the Lord. On the other hand I found that when I stand firm in my faith in the Lord and in His Word, practicing what I profess, that I make a lot more progress in my walk with the Lord. So much depends on the stand we are willing (or not willing) to take for Christ and His Word.
Let's decide to stand strong - no matter what, listening and obeying the voice of the Holy Spirit in our lives, as it's beneficial for us, for others in our lives and for those we interact with. It also enables us to fulfil the purpose for which the Lord called us in the first place - to reflect Him in every way and bring glory to His Name on earth.

Thank you Mike for reminding and cautioning us that a life without Christ and His Word would be a disaster to us. Only obeying and walking in His Word can we progress and reflect Him and bring glory to His Name ! Amen ! God bless
ReplyDeleteYes Mike. So true we live in a world gull of contradictive people. We should correct them and ensure proper alignment with God. Only then the whole world will be a happy place to live.
